Here are some things that you may want to know about me and my practice. I started my practice in October of 2006. I worked briefly with my Mom, she had a practice as a Registered Massage Therapist in Cranbrook for 17 years. I changed location and worked at a local Fitness Club for Three years where my interest in sports injury and recovery really increased. I have been with the Kootenay Health Center since January of 2010 and enjoy the environment and the colleagues I work with. I am passionate about sports and athletics and have a range of experience with all types of athletes from amateur to professional. I am trained in the KinesioTex method of athletic taping. This training has proven to be an integral part of my practice for all of my patients.

I have been married since November of 2001 to my wife Lorelle. We have five lovely children (one boy and four girls) that add spice and enthusiasm to our lives. We love living in Cranbrook, especially in the summer with all of the lakes so close.

Heather graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2022, where she completed over 2400 hours of learning. In school she gained clinical experience working on conditions such as impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, Thoracic outlet syndrome, over use injury, tension headaches, chronic pain, stress and muscle tension, as well as treating people with neurological conditions and spinal cord injury. She was drawn to the field of massage because of her long time passion for health and wellbeing, and her love of helping people. She believes massage is an important part of maintaining healthy musculature and is a huge help in reducing the impact that stress has on the body. She herself has benefited from massage throughout her life and knows first hand the difference it can make. Heather approaches each patient with empathy and an understanding that she is not treating a condition, but an individual with specific needs. She believes that the best way to start treatment is with an in-depth understanding of what may be causing the issue in the first place. Her treatment approach is a combination of therapeutic and relaxation. She believes relaxation has a powerful effect on the nervous system which can aid in a therapeutic treatment. Her treatments can include a variety of modalities aiming to reduce pain, improve circulation, improve function, range of motion and promote relaxation. Outside of massage therapy Heather loves all things outdoors. She can often be found hiking or camping with her family, foraging for edibles to cook for dinner, or most often watching her children play hockey and baseball.
